Coachella 2014 Not Cancelled, Despite Fears
There have been several reports over the past few days that the Coachella music festival will be cancelled for 2014, however this rumor can now be put to rest. Indio councilman Sam Torres proposed a 5% ticket tax on all events over 2500 , which was basically aimed at the Coachella festival and would go into effect 2014.
Coachella promoter Paul Tollett threatened to cancel the massive concert completely for 2014, and move to an entirely new location for 2015. Apparently, that was all councilman Torres needed to hear. Torres dropped his proposed ticket tax immediately and expressed his concern over losing the festival that brings thousands of people to Indio, California every April. Smart move councilman.
